Agrumi were thrilled to be asked to support Linney – the creative production specialists in marketing- with their launch of Peter Rabbit's topiary tour at the start of the summer holidays, ready for the film’s release.
The promotion of the feature involved creating a 3 metre tall rabbit in a similar pose from the film, made from artificial boxwood for the body and specially ordered light blue artificial grass for Peter’s denim shirt jacket on top of a green base.
It was crucial that the sculpture was able to be moved around multiple locations including Manchester’s Trafford Centre, the Bullring in Birmingham, London’s Olympic park and Brighton beach. The base was specifically designed with a compartment for weights, meaning they could be easily removed when travelling and weighted down once in place, for security.
Topiary Peter proved extremely popular for families to take photos including stars of the film and celebrities such as Imogen Thomas, who posed with her daughters at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, recreating his cheeky pose!

Agrumi were approached by Apex Graphics, an exhibition design company company, to create a topiary logo for their client.
Their client was Acer, the computer IT company, who required their logo recreated in topiary for an event.
We recommended the artificial topiary options, as these are great for events and shows. It means you can move the topiary around easily; they don’t require any watering and are lightweight and durable.
They went for four 60cm high freestanding letters, which can be moved around individually, covered in artificial boxwood. This material creates the effect of a boxwood hedge, with a complete covering of artificial leaves.

Ted Baker is a well-known British luxury clothing success. Trading for over 30 years, the company now has stores around the world.
They first approached us in early 2018 for help with a photo shoot and we made them a topiary French Bull dog that went on to feature in one of their advertising campaigns.
The feedback was so positive that a year later they came to us again for some giant topiary ‘TB’ letters and a custom chair in artificial boxwood. Our Head topiary-maker used to design and make chairs so this commission couldn’t have been in better hands.
As you see the finished ‘furniture’ is elegant and eye-catching. Perfectly matched to Ted Baker’s own style.

Cath Kidston approached us to make them a few artificial boxwood animals for their window display in their Piccadilly store.
Their store has been fitted out with lots of hints of foliage: an artificial grass rug, plants on the shelving units and several leaf covered panels for displaying their accessories. So our artificial boxwood product was the perfect match to compliment their theme.
We made them one 6 foot high Tyrannosaurus-Rex and two ginormous frogs. They were covered in artificial boxwood, which is UV resistant, so they are able to stay in the windows for a long period of time, without fading in the sunlight.
They have used the T-rex as a prop to integrate with the shop’s products and mannequins.

Hatton Garden is famously known as London’s jewellery quarter, so when they asked Agrumi Topiary Art to make a giant diamond ring it made a lot of sense!
We were asked for the topiary to be free standing on a large scale so that people could stand in it for photos. So we created the design for a 3 metre high Diamond Ring, high enough to stand under, which would be bolted into the ground.
Artificial boxwood was the topiary medium of choice for this project, as it is a realistic alternative to living plant that would last through the installation with zero maintenance.
This project was brought about by the Hatton Garden BID (Business Improvement District), which funds improvements to the local area, to enhance commercial areas and celebrate the area’s uniqueness. A major benefit of BIDs is that they encourage footfall into the highstreet.
They were interested in having a planter filled with flowering plants at the top of the ‘diamond’ so we left this hollow. We created an artificial floral display (pink orchids, blue delphinium and various white flowers) to represent a pot full of flowers. They loved this so much that we left these built in for the duration of the ring’s installation!
A big sign was placed on the ground saying “SMILE Take a photo in the ring and share with us @HattonGDN to win great prizes this summer… #HattonSummer”.
"Hatton Garden is steeped in history relating to jewellery and diamonds. We are very proud of our identity and want to celebrate who we are. This is why Hatton Garden BID commissioned Agrumi Limited to design a bespoke large topiary engagement ring to be placed on the high street. We could not be happier with the result and it provided a fantastic way for people to get involved and share their stories / moments in our area."
- James Sackley, BID Manager, Hatton Garden BID
As you can see this has been a success with people sharing the images online:

Does your town need some topiary love? Get in touch to see what we can do for you!
The best type of plant for your topiary depends on its purpose, desired result, and length of time available...
Here at Agrumi we can make topiary in four possible categories: Living plants, Moss, Artificial Products and Bare-bones
For when you have more time on your hands to wait for your topiary of choice to properly flourish and fluff out. Requires on going care and maintenance, particularly during the growing seasons.
Box-leafed Privet (Ligustrum Delavayanum)
Our plant of choice for when you want long lasting topiary and don't mind waiting for the best results; it takes a while before reaching its prime but looks wonderfully fluffy after one growing season. This is a compact, evergreen shrub with oval dark green leaves and small white flowers in early summer, followed by blue-black berries. This is a very good bespoke topiary choice, it is resilient, easily woven onto wire frames, and also makes for fine classic topiary shapes from stock.
Read our guide for more information on proper care for your topiary.
Star Jasmine (Trachelospermum Jasminoides)
If you're after something in a hurry this vigorous, evergreen twining plant is the ideal choice for bespoke topiary with fabulous results in a mere matter of weeks. It has oval leaves 5-8cm in length which often turn deep red in winter – lending another dimension to topiary figures. This plant also develops fragrant white flowers during the summer, an added bonus, 2-5cm in width that mellow to a cream colour with age.
Common Ivy (Hedera Helix)
The genus Hedera is fast-growing, evergreen and there are many species within it. Agrumi use the small-leaved varieties, either plain or variegated depending on the commission.
We can also use dried moss as an alternative to living topiary to create fuller looking topiary in an instant. Moss creates a healthy looking, soft, green topiary which requires very little maintenance. Eventually, after some time in the sun, your moss topiary will begin to lose colour and fade; not to worry, as the solution can be very simple! You may decide to remove and replace the old moss with a newer fresher product, or, simply fill in any areas which are loosing their colour. Alternatively the simpler solution is to spray/paint your topiary with a natural looking green paint.
We also make topiary using a range of artificial plant/grass products; providing a long lasting, low maintenance alternative.
Artificial Boxwood matting can be very effective if you’re looking for a realistic plastic alternative to living plants. We use a variety with deep ‘foliage’ and tonal shades of green which replicate the real thing. It is also UV fade protected, for long-term outdoor use, sturdy, light to carry and weather-resistant; providing an instant ever lasting wow-factor that can be used time and again.
The same talented wire artists that create our living plant topiary can use this to make topiary that requires absolutely no on-going care. It’s the perfect choice for clients wanting to commission items that they can transport and use over and over again for event/exhibitions both indoors and out.
Price-wise bespoke topiary made from artificial Boxwood matting doesn't vary much from that made of living plants as it involves the same amount of work.
With artificial grass you can have great looking topiary instantly that doesn’t require any further care.
Artificial grass products have a natural look and feel, creating some stunning topiary designs, and are remarkably true to life
LED Lighting
Sometimes customers want something a bit different to brighten up their designs with; therefore, we offer a fantastic alternative sculpture covering in the form of LED lights. This combination of LED lights and our wire frame sculptures creates a beautiful effect that will joyfully light up the night!
Last Christmas Agrumi got into the festive spirit by covering one of our wire topiary deer frames in 1000 twinkly LED lights. The work took no more than a morning and the results were fantastic. ‘Rudolf’ was stationed outside our local pub in the New Forest, ‘The White Buck’, and helped raise funds for Greenfingers, the charity that creates magical gardens for children’s hospices.
Following on from the success of our topiary stiletto covered in Star Jasmine, made to mark a fashion event at St Christopher’s Place off London’s Oxford Street, we were later commissioned again to produce an updated replacement of the existing stiletto design, but this time covered in beautiful, twinkling, LED lights; ordered just in time for Christmas it was the perfect way to get shoppers into the festive spirit.
Agrumi can design, make and deliver commissions like this within a few days at remarkably low costs; whether its for an evening event, advertisement or to just add some sparkle to the garden at night we think these LED frames are guaranteed to brighten up your night.
Wire Frames
And, of course, we can supply all of our topiary figures in their most basic wire frame form; perfect if you're thinking of trying your hand at training your own topiary plant.
Whatever your desired shape, depending how complex/daring you feel, we can have topiary wire frames made at surprisingly affordable rates.
If you fancy getting started with something simple we can offer a circular cutting guide as to achieve precision pruning for the perfect topiary balls. Or express your creativity with something more intricate and have your art come to life.
Whatever you're after, any size and shape, we can provide the frame; what you do with it thereafter is up to you! We like a challenge, so if you have something else in mind such as garden frames, cages, hanging baskets, an archway or plant frames, just let us know via the contact us page or give us a call! Perhaps you’re after something not strictly for the garden; an ornamental piece or wire mannequin.
Take a look at our portfolio and case studies for more examples and inspiration!
We can supply all of these and more, any size or shape, to suit your needs.
We’re often approached by people who need topiary pieces made up in a hurry, or for an event that is too soon to give our standard Ligustrum time to fluff up. In these situations we have several tried and tested solutions to produce healthy looking topiary art exactly to the customers’ specification, in just a matter of weeks.
Climbers, such us Star Jasmine and Ivy's, are energetic climbers than will rapidly cover a wire frame; making them an excellent solution to producing an elegant sculpture in a hurry. They're easy to wrap around the wire frame, without damaging the plant, and can be used to create a fuller effect in far less time than you'd get with Ligustrum or Buxus, for example. Star Jasmine also has the added bonus of producing extremely fragrant flowers!
Examples
Artificial boxwood matting is a covering of realistic plastic foliage which can be used on a standard wire frame to create a green and bushy topiary sculpture in a fraction of the time. Fire resistant and UV stable options are available, and the final products have the added benefit of being suited to life indoors, as well as being highly portable.
Examples
Price wise artificial boxwood sculptures are available at very similar prices to those made from living material.
Namgrass is a near neighbour of Agrumi in the New Forest and they just happen to be Britain’s premier supplier of artificial grass. Namgrass products have a natural look and feel and have been a perfect partner for Agrumi’s topiary skills when clients want a design that’s light weight and easily portable. Agrumi have made a range of products with Namgrass

Agrumi have created a range of Boxwood topiary sculptures; including a big scottie dog for Radley Co. as an artificial topiary piece.
Agrumi’s prices are very competitive; price-wise there is little difference between bespoke topiary made from artificial boxwood matting and that made of living plants, as it requires the same amount of work – give us a call and we can work something out!
